Description
An
exceptional restoration piece or component-harvesting project featuring a
high-grade, factory-correct Audemars Frères (Brassus & Geneve) Swiss
mechanical movement housed in a beautifully decorated American Joseph Fahys
& Co. Coin Silver No. 1 pocket watch case.
This
timepiece is configured in a true factory Hunter (Savonnette) layout,
featuring a winding stem positioned perfectly at 3 o'clock and an inner glass
bezel hinged at the 11 o'clock position for proper historical movement
alignment.
·
Folk Art Engraving: The back cover features a charming, naive hand-engraving depicting
two birds nestled among foliage next to a nesting box. This primitive
folk-art detailing adds immense social history value and unique character to
the piece, setting it apart from standard factory-patterned cases.
·
The Movement: Features
the highly sought-after Déposé No. 9152 caliber stamp, indicating the
official Swiss design registration dating to 1902. The movement is signed by Audemars
Frères and is currently running when wound, offering excellent value
for its balance assembly, hairspring, and gear train components.
·
The Case: Stamped Fahys
Coin No. 1, indicating it is constructed from durable .900 pure coin
silver. The rim displays the clear, crisp production serial number 08812.
·
Dial & Condition Notes: The white porcelain dial has zero hairline
cracks. There is a small cosmetic chip at the very edge of the dial at the
6 o'clock position; however, this chip is completely hidden from view when
the front bezel is closed, leaving the visible display clean. The hour
hand is broken, leaving a 5mm stud on the central post, while the minute
hand remains intact. This watch is sold strictly as-is for parts, repair, or
a movement-harvesting project.
