Vintage 1970s "Piggy" Minnie Mouse Swiss Mechanical Watch – Gold Tone & Blue Strap

Up for sale is a wonderful piece of vintage horology nostalgia: a rare "Piggy" brand Mickey Mouse character watch featuring a unique "ticking foot" seconds animation.

On first test this vintage character watch worked well and kept good time, however, subsequent tests have been erratic.

Key Features & Mechanics:

·         Brand: Piggy (Marked "PIGGY" on the lower dial and "SWISS MADE" at the top).

·         Case: Classic vintage gold-tone metal bezel.

·         Strap: Fitted with a vibrant, eye-catching shiny blue rubber/plastic strap that beautifully contrasts the gold casing.

·         Movement: Authentic Swiss-made Roseba 1-Jewel manual-wind mechanical movement (marked unadjusted, J9).

·         Animation: Features a classic ticking-foot motion where Mickey's foot vibrates rhythmically to count the seconds, (See Ticking Video below).

·         Operation: Manual wind-up (no batteries required).

Condition Report:

·         Mechanical: Winds smoothly, ticks loudly, and initially the animation functions ran  perfectly, subsequent windings have been intermittent so will require a service.

·         Cosmetic: The dial graphic remains bright and clear. Please note there is slight corrosion/pitting on the vintage gold-tone bezel consistent with age (see photos for close-up details). The blue strap is intact, and the crystal has minor surface wear but presents very well.

This is a fantastic, quirky addition for any collector of vintage Swiss pin-lever movements, novelty timepieces, or unique character watch variants!
