1. Antique 1918 Sterling Silver AGR Pocket Watch
The watch has a lovely clean condition with
blued hands, enamel Roman Numeral face with a subsidiary second dial, (with
missing hand). The crystal again is in lovely condition with only a couple of
very minor scratches, however is not attached to the watch.
Sadly the watch is not working, the crown
wheel only moves in an anti-clockwise direction, balance staff does not seem
fixed.
The watch comes together with a military/mining
watch case protector with a nitrocellulose crystal.
Arthur George Rendell was a London based
importer of Swiss-made timepieces.
London import Leo Zodiac sign and the letter
C for 1918.
The silver case is in excellent condition
with just light wear. Measures 50mm + crown wheel.
2. 1935 Cushion Shape Sterling
Silver J.W. Benson Wristwatch
The
case and crystal are in lovely condition and was made by A.L.D. (Aaron Lufkin
Dennison) in Birmingham, and is
fitted with a 15 jewel Swiss movement.
The
case has a full jubilee hallmark for 1935.
Unfortunately
the watch is not working, the crown wheel turns and turns, I would imagine a
broken spring?
The
enamel face has some damage, (photo) and there are hairline cracks across the
face.
The
watch measures 34mm wide including the crown wheel, by 33mm long, and 12mm
thick.
