Description:
A fantastic pair of mid-century Swiss mechanical timepieces featuring the
highly collectible "pointer-date" calendar complication. Dating from
the 1940s to 1950s, these pieces feature a dedicated central hand that points
to an outer date track running from 1 to 31 around the dial (alternating black and red on the Ardath). Perfect for watch
restoration hobbyists, collectors, or project builders looking to bring vintage
horology back to life.
Item 1: Ardath Pointer-Date Wristwatch (Complete
Head)
·
Brand: Ardath Watch Co.
(Geneva, Switzerland)
·
Features: Arabic
numerals, sub-seconds dial at 6 o'clock, and blued hands and pointer date hand.
·
Case: Chrome-plated
base-metal/stainless steel complete watch head (missing strap).
·
Condition: Cosmetically very good with a beautiful, vintage dial patina. The movement is currently fully
wound but seized due to aged, dried lubricants. The gear train frees up briefly
when setting the time manually (second hand ticks for 10 seconds), indicating
an intact balance staff and hairspring. Jewel count not given. Needs a standard clean and oil service
to run freely.
Item 2: Dural Pointer-Date Watch Movement &
Dial (Cased-Out)

Bienne, Switzerland)
·

·
Case: Bare movement, dial,
hands, and crown only. Lacks a case front/bezel and crystal but includes the case back.
·
Condition: Highly responsive
mechanism that actively winds a few turns and ticks. An excellent donor movement for spare
parts, or the perfect candidate for a custom vintage re-casing project. Jewel count not given.
